Assisted Suicide is Not Legal

2025—H. 5219/SB 151 (“Lila Manfield Sapinsley Compassionate Care Act”), which would legalize medically-assisted suicide, have Committee hearings held in the House on Feb 11th and in the Senate on May 20th. Both bills have been tabled. 

2024—H7100 /S2093 (“Lila Manfield Sapinsley Compassionate Care Act”), which would legalize assisted suicide, is introduced in both chambers but does not advance.

2023—RI H5210 /S0126 (“Lila Manfield  Sapinsley Compassionate Care Act”), which would legalize assisted suicide, introduced in both chambers. Public hearing in the House Judiciary Committee, but the bill does not advance.
