Assisted Suicide is Not Legal
2025—AB 346—would legalize physician-assisted suicide. A hearing was held in the Assembly Select Committee on End-of-Life Care on April 2, 2025. See opposition testimony by Sharon Quick, MD, MA (Bioethics). The bill passed the Assembly but died in the Senate Committee. The governor said he would veto the bill.

2023—SB 239—would legalize physician-assisted suicide. The bill passed both chambers but was vetoed by Governor Lombardo. PCCEF signed onto a letter with other groups asking the governor to veto the bill.
