Charles J. Bentz, MD, FACP is the President of
PCCEF
He is a general internist in private practice at the Fanno Creek Clinic in Portland, Oregon and has a hospital practice at Providence | St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center, where he authored a "Palliative and End of Life Care" curriculum. Dr. Bentz also serves as the Medical Director of the Pacific University School of Physician Assistant Studies. |

Kenneth R. Stevens, MD is the Vice-President of PCCEF.
He
is Professor Emeritus and former chair of the Department of Radiation
Oncology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
He is also a prolific writer, and past president of PCCEF. His
recent publication (Emotional and Psychological Effects of Physician-Assisted
Suicide and Euthanasia on Participating Physicians) is a significant
contribution to the literature. |

William L. Toffler, MD is the National Director of PCCEF.
He
is a Professor of Family Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University
(OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Toffler’s papers and interviews
have received national and international recognition. He is also a
veteran educator and Director of the largest course in the OHSU’s
medical school—Principles of Clinical Medicine. His teaching
ability, leadership and innovation in this course were recognized by
the STFM Award for excellence in the development of an original educational
program. |

Valerie Branch is the Executive Director of PCCEF.

Thomas M. Pitre, MD is an active Board Member
of PCCEF.
He is a practicing urologist at the NW Urology
Clinic in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Pitre is past Medical Staff
President of Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Past President
of the Oregon Urological Society, and continues to serve on the clinical
faculty of Oregon Health and Science University. |
